Description

The Head of Infrastructure and Security will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity posture. This includes ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of all technology systems and services that support business operations

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Infrastructure Management

  1. Ensure high availability and performance of IT infrastructure.
  2. Oversee network, server, and storage operations.
  3. Manage upgrades, patching, and lifecycle of infrastructure assets.
  4. Monitor capacity and scalability to support business growth.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  1. Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and controls.
  2. Lead incident response and recovery planning
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal security standards.

Cloud Infrastructure & Services

  1. Lead the adoption and optimisation of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365).
  2. Ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architecture aligned with business needs.
  3. Oversee migration strategies, hybrid environments, and cloud governance.
  4. Collaborate with vendors and partners for managed cloud services and disaster recovery solutions 

People Management & Team Leadership

  1. Directly manage a team of more than 5 individuals
  2. Build and mentor a high-performing infrastructure and security team.
  3. Drive skill development, succession planning, and performance management.
  4. Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education & Technical Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. Professional certifications as follows would be an advantage:
    • CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ (for security).
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect (for cloud).
  3. 8+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure management and IT security.
  4. Demonstrated track record leading cloud migration and designing scalable cloud architectures.
  5. Proven experience deploying and managing enterprise Wi‑Fi (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, etc.).
  6. Strong knowledge of security hardening across servers, networks, and cloud environments.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills

Experience

  1. 10+ years’ overall IT experience, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  2. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.
  3. Familiarity with SCADA/OT security practices.
  4. Exposure to regulatory audits and frameworks

OTHER PREREQUISITES

  1. Curious and open to learning new technologies (especially AI and automation).
  2. Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable liaising with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
